We’re super excited to share this second installment of our ultimate tips and tricks series for your wedding.
In PART ONE of our TIPS + TRICKS SERIES, we covered the very beginning of your day! For PART TWO, we will cover all the helpful hacks we have on hand for the middle portion of your day.
Moreover, we are talking from the first look to the ceremony!

TIPS FOR YOUR WEDDING: EXPERIENCING THE MIDDLE PORTION OF YOUR SPECIAL DAY
Opting for a First Look
So, why do we recommend doing a first look on your wedding day? Because let’s face it, not all photographers do!
Adding this extra sentimental moment to your timeline allows for more intimate time with your spouse that you would otherwise likely not get. Likewise, we go a bit further into detail about all the pros of this special moment in our previous blog: Top 3 Pieces of Wedding Advice.

Seamless Wedding Party Pics
Subsequently, we have a short and sweet list that will streamline your wedding party photos:
1. Ensure the entire party is informed and aware of the timeline
2. Leave all unnecessary items either at the getting ready location (if possible) or at the reception location.
But, just think, “NO FULL HANDS!”
3. Also, plan for the entire party to be ready 30 minutes prior to the time appointed for wedding party photos.
This will help eliminate any bottlenecks caused by things like boutonnieres and bouquets. They’re tricky!

Ceremony
Our number one HOT tip for a ceremony that looks dreamy on camera is one that comes into play super early in the wedding planning process…
When considering your venue options – or the options within your venue – choose the one with the best lighting!
We recommend a ceremony location that is backlit rather than front lit.
Furthermore, here are some examples of each:

Secondly, we recommend placing flowers in and along the aisle.
This is an elegant touch that draws the eye to the altar, both in person and in photos. Not only will it elevate the overall look of the ceremony, but these florals can also easily be repurposed in the reception later on. YES PLEASE!

Exiting the Ceremony
In order to wrap up this part of the ultimate tips for your wedding series, we want you to consider doing a fun exit from the ceremony.
The key is an exit that will stand the test of time!
Without a doubt, our personal favorite examples of this are a floral petal toss or a toss of dried flowers.
These both end up looking so romantic and pretty on camera.
Also, the photos will have you going back to the moment.

Now you have the tips to master planning the middle part of your wedding day!
Undoubtedly, we’re happy to share our knowledge and help you streamline your perfect day to the best of our ability. And, stay tuned for the final part of this series coming soon!
